Louis V. Gonzales, was a master craftsman in furniture repair and refinishing. It was not just his trade, it was his art. With skillful hands and an expert eye, he could transform worn treasures into stunning masterpieces, restoring their original beauty and purpose.
Even after retirement, he enjoyed working in his own workshop at his own pace, and he never lost the joy of his art. He became a master teacher of his trade. When he could no longer work, he would give detail lessons from his armchair when a question was asked. He especially loved to pass on his art to his children and enjoyed seeing pieces of restored furniture they had completed.
He loved to watch the Houston Astros and he looked forward to each game. He wanted them to win every game.
Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed the frequent visits from his children and grandchildren. He was happy and thankful to God that he had created a family that loved him, a family that honored him.
