

Louis served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, where he received the WWII Victory Medal. He was also a participant in the Joint Task Force 1 – Atomic Bomb Test – Operation Crossroads. Louis was a member of the Knights of Columbus, I.O.F., and the Citizens Police Academy in Sugar Land, TX. Louis was a loving father and husband, hard worker, and wonderful provider for his family. He will be dearly missed.
Louis is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Gorney; children, Kathy Lee Kimich (Raymond), Elizabeth Ann Bishop (Byron), Terrie Jeanette Gorney (Mike Brophy), and Daniel Martin Gorney; sister, Jean Gorney Crabtree; step-brother Richard Clark; 16 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ruth Miller, Buck Gorney, James, and Edwin Clark; granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Bishop.
Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015, from 5-8 PM at Heights Funeral Home, with the Rosary being recited at 7 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held the following morning at 10 AM, at St. James Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
