

Mary Louise was born in Fruita, Colorado to Roy and Freda Shadle on November 16, 1918. She married Richard Pease, an Air Force officer, in 1940. For the next 18 years, the family lived in a variety of places; Ohio, California, Pennsylvania, Virginia and England. In 1958 Richard was stationed at Chennault Air Force Base. In 1963, after Richard retired from the Air Force, they decided to make Lake Charles their home. Louise was an avid golfer and an excellent ballroom dancer. She was a champion of the arts and had a passion for volunteerism. She was a member of the Council for International Concerns, an officer in the Enterprise Club, sponsor of the Rosa Hart Scholarship Fund, and member of the Lake Charles Symphony Women’s Auxiliary. In 2005, Louise commissioned a cello concerto composed by Keith Gates, which was performed by the Lake Charles Symphony with Peter Kempter as the soloist. The Principal Cello Chair of the Lake Charles Symphony is endowed by Louise and Richard Pease. She served as a volunteer for 30 years at St. Patrick’s Hospital and she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles where she served as an Elder.
Louise is survived by 4 children; Donn Pease and his wife Kyra Rand Pease, Eric Pease and his wife Regina McKee Pease, Janis Pease LaRocque and Judy Pease Wilson and her husband Richard L. Wilson, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at the Unitarian Fellowship of Houston, 1504 Wirt Road, Houston, Texas 77055 at 4:00pm on Sunday, March 10, 2013.
An additional memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles, 1801 Second Avenue, Lake Charles, Louisiana at 10:00am on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
