Lowell Wayne Cochran

Lowell Wayne Cochran (Lolo), 87, of Spring, Texas, passed away peacefully July 19, 2026 at MD Anderson Cancer Center, following a short, two-month battle with cancer. He was born on November 23, 1938, to Joe and Ruth Cochran.

Lolol, a native of Houston, graduated from Milby High School, Class of 1957, serving on Student Council, and later attended Sam Houston State University. He spent 30 years working in Computing Services for Humble Oil, which eventually became Exxon Mobil. He was a loyal employee who worked hard, planned wisely, and retired comfortably at only 55 years old. We should all be so lucky.

On August 23, 1969, Lowell married Linda Gail Stewart, from Beaumont, Texas. They first met when they both served in Linda’s cousin Patsy’s wedding to her husband Alan Womack, Lowell’s best friend. Together, they built a wonderful life together for nearly 57 years of wedded bliss and successfully raised two daughters, Kimberly Kay Cochran and Kelly Shea Shaw. He was a proud grandfather to Sorelda, age 21; Braddek, age 19; and Rykkhan, age 16, each of whom brought great happiness and proudness to his life. There was never a doubt of how proud he was of each of us.

Lolo was the kind of person you had to get to know. At first, he could be quiet and reserved, but once he became comfortable around you, his personality came alive. Those closest to him knew that he was easily one of the funniest people they had ever met. His quick wit and humor, paired with his ability to make his family and friends laugh, are memories we will always hold close.

He loved his family deeply, and he had a special place in his heart for his dogs, especially his Boston terriers. A good day for Lolo often included watching the Texans, or a good round of WWE wrestling with one of his dogs nearby. He enjoyed the simple comforts of home and the company of the people and animals he loved most.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruth Cochran, and his son-in-law, Jason Shaw. He leaves behind his beloved wife Linda, whom he cherished; his daughters, Kimberly and Kelly; his grandchildren, Sorelda, Braddek, and Rykkhan; and his brother, Bob Cochran, Bob’s wife, Janice, their daughters, Courtney and Brooke, and their spouses and children, along with many other dear family members and friends.

Lolo lived a quiet but meaningful life filled with hard work, laughter, family, and love. He will be remembered not only for the life he lived, but for the laughter he created and the love he gave so freely to those fortunate enough to know the real Lolo.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home beginning at 9:30 am Saturday, July 25, 2026, service following in the Colonial Chapel at 10 am, concluding with the Committal Service at 11 am eta.
