Luis Servando was born to Elfego and Bertha Bárcenas on February 6, 1977 in Houston, Texas.
As a boy, he showed genuine love, kindness, and concern for his family and friends. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School, he continued his studies and earned an Associate Degree of Science in Criminal Justice.
Luis Servando demonstrated his commitment to the pursuit of his dream of marrying and raising a family by choosing a livelihood that allowed him a work/life balance to be present in his loved one’s lives.
Luis was a devoted family man, whether it was taking Aly to several “Donuts with Dads” meetings, taking Ricky fishing, teaching Aly and Ricky how to drive or fix their car, or supporting his wife in defeating cancer; Luis Servando cherished his most important roles in life, husband and father. Luis Servando fulfilled a promise he made to his wife that he would be there for her and their children.
Luis’ love, kindness, and care extended beyond his immediate family.
Throughout his life, he prioritized family and relationships. When extended family experienced life’s special moments or challenges, he was present to share in their joy or console their sorrows. If Luis’ friends needed help, he was also known to step in to offer his support.
Though the passing of our beloved Luis Servando was unexpected, our family has found peace in knowing the incredible love he showed to everyone and in the beautiful memories he created with so many.
Among the many recipients of his love, kindness, and care are his wife Theresa Salazar, son, Ricky Perez, daughter Alysa Perez, grandson, Aiden S.
