

Luis Ferro Trevino, 89, lived a long and full life, and passed away at home, surrounded by the love of his family on Sunday evening, January 17, 2016 in Houston, Texas. He was born Dec. 4, 1926 in San Antonio,Texas. As a child he moved to Mexico City with his mother, brothers and sister, where he lived until he married. In search for a better future for his wife and children, he moved to Houston, Texas in 1956. Luis was a talented and hardworking Tailor who worked for Sears and Roebuck Department Store who always valued and took pride in his work, and retired after 27 years of service. Known for his “punctuality” in all aspects of his life, his favorite saying was “If you’re on time you’re late, and if you’re early you are on time”. Swing and Salsa dancing with his wife was one of his favorite things to do. He was a great dancer. You could always find Luis gardening, maintaining his lawn and caring for his home. He was a loving husband, father of 4, grandfather of 10 and great-grandfather of 2 who gave his love unconditionally to his family, and was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Luisa Ferro; brother, Amador Trevino; and sister, Ana Maria Trevino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Guadalupe Soria Trevino; his son, Jose Luis Trevino; his daughters, Gilda Trevino, Lucy Trevino Soliz and husband Dr. Amil Soliz, and Julie Trevino Wallison and husband Edward Wallison; his grandchildren, Gina Sadri and husband Dr. Soorena Sadri, Angelica Garza, Luis Garza, Vanessa Garza, Jennifer Soliz and husband Drew Schmenner, Christopher Soliz, Brandon Soliz, Stephen Wallison, Diana Wallison, and Taylor Wallison; his great-grandchildren, Sebastian Sadri and Vincent Sadri; his brother, Henry F. Trevino; his cousins, Celia Guerrero, Roberto Zamora, Gaby Zamora, and his many beloved nieces and nephews. He was a great man, who will live in their hearts forever, and,will be forever missed.
A Memorial Rosary will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at St. Edward Catholic Church, 2601 Spring Stuebner Rd., Spring, Texas 77389, with the Celebration of Life Memorial Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m.
