

Mamie A. Travelbee, born on November 4th, 1934, in Houston, Texas, embarked on her final adventure on January 22, 2024, at the age of 89. She lived a life brimming with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.
Mamie was the heart of her family, a beloved matriarch who approached life with a sparkle in her eye and a contagious sense of humor. She had an uncanny ability to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A devoted partner, Mamie shared 50 years of love, laughter, and travel with her husband, Buzz Travelbee, creating a legacy of enduring love. Together, they weathered the storms of life and reveled in its sunny days.
Mamie is survived by her loving children: Terry Lynn, Julie Mills, and Fuzzy Travelbee. Her infectious warmth extended to her grandchildren: Coy Hunger, Tab Little, Quinn Hunger, Rich Mills, Morgan Travelbee, Colin Hunger, Brea Burke, Ty Travelbee, great grandchildren: Conner Mills, Ellissa Little, Payton Williams, Ashton Hunger, Erik Little, Bobby Burke Cash Travelbee and Claire Hunger and Many, many Nieces and nephews, each of whom carries a piece of her radiant spirit forward.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Buzz Travelbee, son Randy Travelbee, and siblings Rose Brandon, Natalie Willet, Lucielle Hazel, TJ Skero, and Joe Skero, Mamie now reunites with them in the eternal embrace of peace.
Known for her modesty, Mamie would likely downplay her impact on those around her. To know her was to love her – a sentiment echoed by all who had the joy of crossing her path. Her warm hugs, affectionate kisses, and the laughter she effortlessly shared made no stranger feel like anything less than family.
Services to celebrate Mamie's remarkable life will be held at Earthman/Resthaven Funeral Home on January 31st at 10 am.
Mamie Travelbee's laughter will echo in our hearts forever, a reminder that a life well-lived is a gift to be treasured. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave.
A visitation for Mamie will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
