Manuel M. Rios, 84 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 27, 2020. He was born March 27, 1936 in Reynosa, Mexico to Manuel and Bertha Rios. He served in the United States Army for 4 years and over 40 years at the United States Postal Service, was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and Holy Name Spanish Choir and Houston-Galveston Archdiocese Choir Group and Holy Name Football Coach. He loved singing, dancing and gambling. His family meant everything to him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Virginia Rios; children, Joe Manuel Rios (Virginia); Virginia “Gigi” Villarreal (Ruben); Patrick Rios (Christina); Suzanne Haselberger (Greg) and Donna Gordon (Michael); 17 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rene Rios, Blanca Rios, George Rios and Bertha Pereria along with numerous other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Bertha Rios.
Graveside services will be held 11:30am, Friday, July 24, 2020 at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Rios, Javier Haselberger, Nicholas Rios, Christian Rios, Gilbert Villarreal, Jacob Gordon and Joshua Gordon.
In lieu of flowers family requests memorials may be made to the Dementia Foundation.
