Marcela Montes (Tia Chelita) of Humble, Texas passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at the age of 95. Marcela was born on January 31, 1929 in Palestine, Texas where she grew up in Ciudad Acuna, Coahuila Mexico.
Mrs. Montes was actively involved in Assumption Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Anacleto Montes, Juana "Janie" Montes-Kelly, several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by Angelica (Daniel) Reuber, Graciela (Juan) Medina, Stephanie (Roberto) Cruz, 7 grandchildren, and multiple great grandchildren.
A visitation for Marcela Montes will be held Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral service will follow Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A committal service will occur Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
