Marcella “Marcie” Foyt was born in Wharton, Texas on June 27, 1927, and passed away October 24, 2012 in Houston. Marcie came to Houston to study nursing at St. Joseph’s School of Nursing at the age of 17, and happily served as an RN for 42 years. She was a school nurse at All Saints School for eight years, and worked for Dr. E. M. Thomason for many years. She loved her patients dearly.
Marcie married Clarence T. Foyt on September 4, 1948 and was happily married for 64 years to her life partner. She is survived by her husband, Clarence; daughter, Celeste; son, Dennis; grandchildren, Daryl and Brittani, and their mother, Glenna Thompson.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 27, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church, 215 East 10th Street, Houston, Texas 77008. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, Houston, Texas.
