Born in Elgin, Texas, Marcos lived a full and remarkable life marked by hard work, laughter, and deep devotion to his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and went on to become an aviation instrument mechanic, coach and umpire.
Known for his quick wit, warm hospitality, and unforgettable storytelling, Marcos had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome. He and his wife loved opening their home to others, and no visit was complete without a shot of tequila and a good laugh. A devoted sports fan, he rarely missed a Houston Texans or Astros game and cheered them on with unwavering loyalty.
In his later years, Marcos found joy in simple things—He was never one to sit still, always staying busy with something to occupy his hands and a story on his lips.
His favorite song, El Rey by Vicente Fernández, was a fitting anthem for a man who lived life with pride, humor, and heart. He was the king of his family and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Marcos is survived by his loving wife, Simona; his children, Yvonne, Yvette, Marcos John, and Rochell; grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and a wide circle of extended family and friends.
A celebration of his life will be held August 8th. Mass at 1pm St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, burial to 3pm Forest Park Lawndale.
