Margaret Swiech Strelec, age 95, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2022. She was born to John and Mary Swiech on January 16, 1927, in Willis, Texas. Margaret was the fifth of eight children. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
Margaret never met a stranger; and was deeply loved and will be missed by her family and friends. She loved to sew, alter clothes, garden and have Tupperware and Stanley parties.
Margaret came to Houston when she was 16 and met her future husband at a dance on May 8, 1946, and they were married on September 25, 1946. They were married for 55 years. They moved to Spring Branch in 1953 and were charter members of St. Jerome Catholic Church.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph B. Strelec, son, Samuel W. Strelec and all of her brothers and sisters (Felix, Joe, Leon, Anton, Kie, Rosie Scholwinski and Verna Wagner).
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth and son-in-law, Larry Hagler of Lago Vista, Texas, grandson and wife, Alan and Staci Hagler of Cedar Park, Texas, granddaughter, Danielle Strelec of Houston, Texas, great grandsons Leif Hagler, Zane Hagler, Wynn Hagler and Mark Strelec and great granddaughter, Natalie Strelec and lots of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Monday, December 19, 2022, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell in Houston. Graveside services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, also in Houston.
