Mrs. Margarita Frausto, age 85, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home, on Sunday, March 27, 2022. Mrs. Frausto was born November 1, 1936, in El Azúcar (Camargo), Tamps., Mexico, and was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mateo Frausto, daughter, Adelita Sanchez, and her parents, Antonio Garza Chapa and Josefa Garza Hinojosa. She is survived by her children: Maria Vallejo and husband Mauricio, San Juanita Lopez and husband Ruben, son-in-law Felix Sanchez, Jr., Mateo Frausto, Jr., Laura Soliz, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Margarita grew up with her parents and 12 brothers and sisters in Mexico before she moved to Houston in the late 1950s. It was in Houston that she met her husband, Mateo Frausto, they married on December 21st, 1958, and together they built a loving home for their family. She had a great love for cooking, gardening, and sewing, and enjoyed sharing her talents with those around her. Her home was always open with a hot meal ready on the table; her children and grandchildren proudly wore handmade clothes, and wedding dresses that she lovingly made; and her garden was always blooming.
Margarita was a devout Catholic and practiced the teachings of Christ daily in the way she was there for others. Whether it was family, friends, neighbors, or strangers, she was always willing to help those in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and left a lifetime of beautiful and happy memories
