

On March 16, 1963 Rosa L. Hartley welcomed in a new baby girl named Marguerite. She was known as "Sister" and "Baby Sister" in her early childhood days and still today. She was the baby girl to her siblings which all of them preceded her in death. They were Arthur Statin, John Earl Brownnd Othe Brown. Marguerite was raised in the Acres Home Area where she resided with her eldest brother ArthurStatin and Katherine Statin. Marguerite accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized on August2,1948 at the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in the Loving Canada area. She was an active member at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, lead singer, a soloist and was a member of the usher board. Marguerite Jones was also a member of the Mount Herman Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Uran Justice Sr. where she was also a member on the usher board and worked in the kitchen. In her later years, she became a member of the Zion Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dumas Miles where she was a faithful servant in the kitchen. Marguerite attended Booker T. Washington in the Houston Independent School District. Marguerite was was employed by the Houston Independent School District Food Service department for 13 years, Burnett Bailey's Home as a cook through the Harris County System and also the Harris County Courthouse janitorial services for seven years. Over the years, she was a dedicated worker and mother to her children and grandchildren where she continued to love, nurture, cook and discipline.Margueritewas married to LeRoy Caldwell and Casey Lee Jones, Jr. and they both preceded her in death. Of the two unions, Marguerite was abundantly blessed with thirteen children, which two preceded her in death (Benjamin & Gary). Left to mourn her are children, Suandra Richardson, Brenda Williams, Patricia Caldwell-Tyler (Joseph), Janet Tates, Katherine Thomas, Rosie Smith, Bridget Parker, Terry Caldwell (Sharron), Casey Caldwell, Michelle Johnson (Michael), Tracy Caldwell. She also had nieces that were raised as sisters: Juanita Clark, Geneva Statin, and Helen Prophet, one sister-in-law Barbara Brown, one nephew preceded her in death; Louie Brown. Left to mourn her death are nieces and nephews Annetta Brown, Carolyn Baker, Lionel Wright (Leisha), Wendell Brown (Amanda), Jocelyn Powers, Earlicia Monroe (James), Darrell Brown, Melvin Caldwell, Linn Caldwell, 2 grandchildren preceded her in death, Deltric Caldwell, Sr., and Donzell Caldwell. Forty three grandchildren, sixty eight great grandchildren. A host of first, second and third generational cousins, family, friends and relatives.
