Maria de Los Angeles Flores

With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Maria De Los Angeles Flores, who passed away on September 24, 2026, just one week before her 78th birthday.

Born on October 1, 1948, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she was the beloved daughter of Alonzo and Raquel Longoria. She later moved to Houston, Texas, where she built her life and raised her family.

She was married to Luis Flores for 50 years. Together, they raised four children: Frances Galvan, Luis Flores, Milton Flores, and Debbie Flores.

She was a devoted mother who gave her children a lifetime of unconditional love, support, and memories. She was also an extraordinary grandmother who adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she spent with them.

For 35 years, she proudly served Houston Independent School District as a special education teacher’s aide. She dedicated her career to helping children and caring for those who needed extra patience, understanding, and compassion. Her work allowed her to touch countless lives throughout her many years with HISD.

She was full of life and had a spirit that could light up a room. She loved being around people, laughing, singing, dancing, and making memories. Her friendships were an important part of her life, and the number of people who cared for her was a reflection of the special person she was.

To her children, she was the best mother anyone could ever ask for. To her grandchildren, she was the best grandmother. Her family was her greatest pride, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Luis Flores; her parents, Alonzo and Raquel Longoria; and her siblings Raquel Pena, Alonzo Longoria, Armando Longoria, and Petra Rosales.

She leaves behind her four children, Frances Galvan (Edgar), Luis Flores (Ana), Milton Flores, and Debbie Flores (Juan), along with her cherished grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in Houston, Texas.

Family and friends are invited to gather together to celebrate her life and honor the beautiful woman she was.
