Maria Moreno

Maria Moreno was born on June 22, 1948. She passed away on June 2, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ana C. Gonzales and Lorenzo Moreno, as well as her baby brother Luis Moreno. She leaves behind to mourn and cherish her memories, her son, Luis Antonio Moreno (Lisa); her twin sister Manuela Guerrero (Alejandro); four brothers, Apolinar Davila (Rachel), Ruben Davila (Paula), Juan Moreno (Deborah), and Arturo Moreno (Gracie); three grandchildren, Christian, Allisa, and Julian; and numerous nieces and nephews. Maria was a 1967 graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School. She worked as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Corrections Darrington Unit for several years, but left in order to care for our mother. She used to like to dance to the music of "Grupo Fiel", where her son Luis was the accordion player. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends. Our family would like to thank Stephanie Satterfield, Sandra Trevino, and Sunny Langlinias with Heart to Heart Hospice. The family will receive friends at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home on Thursday, June 5th from 5pm-9pm with a rosary service beginning at 7pm. A funeral service will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 10am, with interment immediately following. May she rest in peace.
