

Marilyn Dionne Green Johnican was born to the late Rev. George Green Jr. and Evangelist Missionary Shirley Green on April 1976 in Houston, Texas. After moving to Beaumont, Texas she graduated from West Brook High School . From a young child to her adulthood, Marilyn was greatly blessed to be under the leadership of the late Bishop R.E. Woodard, Sr. at Woodard COGIC as well as Bishop W.N. Godfrey, and Pastor Dr. W.J. Collins. at North Main COGIC. Marilyn was part of the Women's Choir and directed the youth choir for a time. God gave her dreams and visions, when she was ten years old, she came to her mother one morning to tell about a dream which depicted the fall of the space shuttle "Challenger" January 28, 1986.Marilyn united in holy matrimony to Cory Lynn Johnican on August 4, 2007 at North Main Church, Dr. Collins officiating. The family resided in Houston, TX and eventually relocated to Atlanta, GA. She was a dedicated and beloved mother to her family. She received her Bachelor's Degree at Georgia State University and her master's from Clark Atlanta University.She was employed by Atlanta Public Schools at the Hollis Innovation Academy as a social worker. She initiated the Uniform Closet and the Kindness Club. Hollis Academy principal renamed the food pantry in her honor. She transitioned into God's Kingdom December 10, 2017, Sunday Morning. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Cory Johnican; five children: Melvin, Whitney, Jacobi, Cortnei and Jacob; mother Missionary Shirley Green: sister Sherita Smith; mother-in-lawRegina Tate and sister-in-law Rachelle Johnican; two grandchildren, Cameron and Blaire, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins. aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
