

Mario nació de Manuel y Margarita Márquez el 10 de septiembre del 1950 en Pátzcuaro Michoacán México.
Su familia se mudó a Houston, Texas en 1951, donde Mario creció, desarrolló un amor por el aprendizaje y el conocimiento, y pasó la mayor parte de su vida. Superó muchos desafíos en su vida y, trabajando duro, creó oportunidades para sí mismo. Fue el primer miembro de su familia en asistir y avanzar en la universidad. Se graduó con un Bachillerato en Administración de Empresas con especialización en contabilidad y, posteriormente, una Maestría en Administración de Empresas, ambas de la Universidad de Houston antes de recibir la licencia de Contador Público Certificado. Después de trabajar en varios puestos en contabilidad, Mario comenzó su última carrera en 1996 como agente de bienes raíces, donde su personalidad natural de conversar le ayudó a desarrollar muchas relaciones personales y, al mismo tiempo, brindó un excelente servicio al cliente para las familias a las que servía.
A Mario le sobreviven su esposa de 50 años de matrimonio- Elida Márquez; sus hijos, Lily Yoder, Ryan Márquez y Patrick Márquez (esposa, Megan Márquez); sus nietos, Hayli, Kaleb y Noah; sus hermanos (y cónyuges), Raúl, Gloria (Larry), Janie, Marilyn (Craig) y Manuel Jr. (Lilliana), así como muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y otros familiares.
Le precedían en paz sus padres, Manuel y Margarita, y dos hermanos, Rosalinda y Luis.
Conocer y amar a Mario era amar un buen debate, ser un gran fanático de las películas clásicas, tener conocimientos de muchas cosas y nunca dejar de luchar por el éxito. Siempre será amado y extrañado profundamente.

Mario Marquez, 73, of Katy Texas, passed away on June 27, 2024, surrounded by loved ones, after losing his battle to an aggressive illness.
Mario was born to Manuel and Margarita Marquez on September 10, 1950, in Pátzcuaro Michoacan Mexico.
His family moved to Houston, Texas in 1951 where Mario was raised, developed a love for learning and knowledge, and spent most of his life. He overcame many challenges in his life, and, by working hard, created opportunities for himself. He was the first member of his family to attend and work his way through college. He graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration, majoring in accounting, and, later, a Masters of Business Administration, both from the University of Houston before receiving licensure as a Certified Public Accountant. After working in various positions in the accounting field, Mario began his final career in 1996 as a realtor, where his natural conversational demeanor aided in developing many personal relationships while providing excellent customer service for the families he served.
Mario is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elida Marquez; their children, Lily Yoder, Ryan Marquez, and Patrick Marquez (wife, Megan Marquez); his grandchildren, Hayli, Kaleb, and Noah; his siblings (and spouses), Raul, Gloria (Larry), Janie, Marilyn (Craig), and Manuel Jr. (Lilliana) as well as many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Preceding him in peace were his parents, Manuel and Margarita, and two siblings, Rosalinda and Luis.
To know and to love Mario was to love a good debate, to be a big fan of classic movies, to be knowledgeable about a great many things, and to never stop striving for success. He will always be loved and will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Mario will be held Friday, July 5, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM. A committal service will follow Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 11:00 AM, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
