Marion is survived by his two older brothers, Raymond Gurski and Bernard Gurski, five nieces and one nephew, and other family and friends.
Marion was born October 21st, 1942, in Houston, Texas. He was in a hurry to arrive into this world. Marion did not wait for his parents to get to the hospital - he was born at home. This was the first race of his life. Interestingly, Marion loved car races. All car races. He loved to watch the Indianapolis 500, and others. He enjoyed watching his many recordings of past races.
In his younger days, Marion’s sport was drag racing. He enjoyed driving dragsters and hanging out at the drag strip. In fact, Marion and his wife Nan, were married at the Porter Drag Strip. Nan’s son Perry, was eleven when they married. Marion enjoyed being a dad. Perry loved his guitar and rock music. Marion even attended a KISS concert with his son!
When he was about 18, Marion joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He was proud of his service to our country. Once a Marine, always a Marine. Semper Fi.
After his military service, Marion worked for Steel Distributors (which later became Yellow Freight Co.). Marion drove a truck for Yellow Freight until his retirement. After retiring, he drove a special events school bus part time. For several years, Nan, Perry and Marion also owned and operated a pet store with exotic fish, snakes and more.
Marion loved his country and his family. He was proud of his Polish heritage. He loved animals. ...And he loved his beer. He also loved watching sports, especially the Astros in 2017!
We will miss our brother, our uncle, our friend. We celebrate that we had him in our lives.
And now Marion, we wish for you a beautiful reunion with your parents, Nan and Perry, other relatives and friends that have passed, plus your dogs, birds, fish and even your donkey!
Rest in Peace Marion. We Love You.
