Marjorie Ann "Marge" Akers Grubbs

Marjorie Ann (Akers) "Marge" Grubbs, a Houston resident for over 30 years, was born in Jackson Center, Ohio on Monday, January 1, 1940 to parents Charlie and Marie Akers. After a courageous battle with an aggressive breast cancer, she passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, July 4, 2014.

After moving to Houston, Marge started a career in nursing which included hospitals, and private duty care until her retirement.

She had a love of gardening, bird watching, reading, crocheting and sewing, which filled a lot of her time.

Marge was preceded in death by her devoted husband of more than 40 years, Robert Grubbs, and a daughter, Deanna Coy. She is survived by loving daughters, Marlene Mancilla and husband Mike of Houston, Texas, and Toni Gehm of Phoenix, Arizona. Marge is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Leslie and husband Sam, Alex, Jordan, Demi, and by her loved and loyal pet, Sterling.

Family and friends gathered to celebrate Marge's life at a private service held at a later date.
