Mark, Sorry about your Grandpa. After reading what others have said about him it seems you have some really big shoes to fill to live up to the name.

I was sorry to hear that another of my Finke cousins has passed away. We always think we will have another chance to visit. It has been quite a few years since I last saw Mark, but I have a picture of him taken in the early 40's in Houston at my parents, Fred & Opal's home. That is how I remember him best. My sympathies to all of Mark's family members.

I have wonderful memories of Uncle Mark, especially at the New Waverly place. He always had time for the kids. He would play yard tarts, let you pick vegetables, let you help him fry fish, whatever. He always made me feel comfortable, not like I was just a kid in the way. He was a caring, considerate, hardworking man. He will be missed. Our prayers are with the family.

Bobby D. and Family,
So sorry to hear the news about Uncle Mark. So many great memories of Uncle Mark. I always loved staying with cousin Bobby, Aunt Margaret, and Uncle Mark. We had the best times playing in the great big old lot and running the neighborhood. Uncle Mark would be gone before daylight heading to the Schlitz distributor to start his deliveries. Many things impressed me about Uncle Mark and hard work was at the forefront. He always had a joke, a smile, or a kind word for his nephew and for that I was most appreciative. I will always feel blessed for having the opportunity to have an uncle like him. My thoughts, prayers, and love go out to the whole Finke clan.

Dear Bobby and family, I'm sorry to hear about Uncle Mark's death. I have such sweet memories of him when I was growing up. He'd be outside working in the garage or tending to the garden usually, walking around in his undershirt and a pair of pants. I remember being shocked at how hairy he was cause my daddy didn't have any hair on his chest! I always enjoyed talking with him. He would just sit and listen. Sweet memories for sure! I'm sorry that I will not be able to attend his service on Wednesday but my heart and thoughts will be with ya'll.

Bobby and family:

We are so sorry about the loss of your father. We had planned to bring Papa to Houston this week to see Mark. Papa decided that it is impossible for him to get there for the funeral. I cannot be in two places at the same time, since I have to take my mother to MD Anderson at 715 am for tests on Wednesday. Our youngest daughter Katy had planned to take Papa to the visitation on Tuesday. Our prayers and sympathy are with the whole family during this very sad time. God bless you all.
