

Mark Franklin Floyd- 59, passed away Thursday, July 24, following a brief but intense battle with cancer. Born in Houston, Texas on August 28, 1954, Mark was the son of James Franklin and Pauline Faye (Stoy) Floyd. Throughout his life, Mark touched the lives of so many individuals and will always be remembered for his welcoming and loving spirit. He was a 1972 graduate of S.P. Waltrip Highschool and also attended Stephen F. Austin State University. Mark specialized in water resources management, working for the City of Houston Water Dept for 12 years and was a Level IV operator for The San Jacinto River Authority for 15 yrs. Mark is survived by his mother Pauline Floyd; former wife Deborah (Grimes) Floyd ; sons James and Evan ; Daughter Lisa Greve ; grandsons Thomas and Alex Greve; brother Tim and wife Martha, sister Paula Lawson and husband Guy and brother Jeff Floyd; brother in law Herman Grimes and wife Amy; sister in law Donna Kominczak and husband Dennis. He is also survived by nephews Marcus Floyd, Micah Floyd, Greg Floyd, Ben Lawson, Marcus Kominczak, Collin Grimes and nieces Bethany Lawson, Audrey Madill, Ashly Grimes, great nephew Christopher Floyd and great nieces Cathryn Floyd and Morgan Floyd. His memory will be treasured by his family as well as his special friends, too numerous to mention. By request, cremation has taken place under the care of Heights Funeral Home 1317 Heights Blvd. Houston, Tx (713-862-1506), where a celebration of life in memory of Mark will be held on Tuesday, July 29 at 4 p.m. The family would also like to extend a warm and genuine thanks to the wonderful care provided to Mark by the Houston Hospice caregivers, O'kema, Ana and chaplain Jim as well as independent caretaker Chandra.
