Marlene, even after 1 yr...it seems like I just saw you yesterday! It's still so fresh and everyone misses you so deeply!  Your kids are growing like weeds! Gabby likes to walk when holding someones hand and she gets so upset when she's picked up....it's cute! Oh how I wish you could be here with us today!  You impacted so many lives while you were here in person and even after you went home to be with the Lord, you have brought us together again after so many years. I can't believe that time has gone by so fast..You have been in my dreams and even though we don't speak in each one I am thankful to see you again..smiling..Your baby girl is getting so big!! It has now been over a year since we spoke, I have only had one dream where I could actually hear your voice and you wanted me to tell a friend that you loved her.  I did as you asked. Marlene, I only got to spend a year with you before we went our seperate ways.  We lost touch, and I didn't even know you'd married Joseph.  The time I spent with you was full of laughs. My love, we start our first year without you.  I don't really know how to move forward.  You were the rock of our family that held us together.  Gabriella will be comming home soon, Jr. misses you terribly but is now saying that you are in heaven, the twins and Destiny say it is really hard without you. My dear friend, I had a dream about you the other night and you told me you were fine, that you were in a beautiful place and I was just a bit sad, but you told me that things would be fine. God called you because your task was done and that even though you are not here in your human body you are with us in spirit. I had the honor of knowing Marlene when she brought Joseph Jr. to the meet the teacher night at the First Baptist Mothers Day out.  She was a very warm and caring mother. I am so sorry for your loss and that her children have lost their loving young mother.  But, God has a reason for things - even things like this that we never understand.  May God be with you at this time of sorrow.

Marlene, I had the pleasure of meeting you in ROTC. You always had that great smile. You were a great friend to have. I will always remember those great days. Joseph stay strong and I know from personal experience time is a great friend it will give you comfort and peace. I also had a premii baby. He was a 27 weeks 2lbs. baby boy and now he's 2 1/2 yrs. and doing great. So stay strong and positive because your children and that special angel are the ones to keep you going.

My memories of Marlene are of a friendly young lady who thoroughly enjoyed participating in ROTC and soccer. She always wore her uniform with pride and was not shy to scold those of us who did not take the program as seriously. She was a person with strong leadership skills.
These skills were most apparent on the soccer field where she played the position of goal keeper. I vividly remember her loudly directing and putting order in the defense during a soccer game. It is my most sincere hope that the family finds solace through religion, friends, and most importantly family. Marlene lives on in the memories of those of use who had the privilege of spending time with her.

May you rest in peace now Marlene and watch over your beautiful family.
