

Marlin was born to Dock O'Brien and Jetty Jewel Lee, June 17, 1933, in Maverick, Texas. He graduated from Ballinger High School in 1951. After graduation, Marlin enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Chuckawan during the Korean War.
On October 12, 1954, he married Sandra Kaster and they lived the majority of their married life in Houston, Texas. Together they raised two children.
Marlin is survived by: his spouse of 72 years, Sandra, daughter Sandia Pruett and her husband Jerry Pruett, son Marlin Lee Jr. and wife D'Anna. He also leaves to cherish his memory his grandchildren: Sierra Pruett, Joshua Pruett (Jessica), Hiedee Lee, and Kellen Lee; 11 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dock and Jewel Lee, brother O'Brien Lee, sister Laverell Jones, grandson, Marlin Lee III, and nephews Mike, Randy, and Steve Lee.
Marlin worked as a consultant and wrote safety training manuals for KRP for a number of years after his retirement from the chemical industry. He enjoyed watching football, feeding the birds, playing with his cats, and spending time with family. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ, serving as a deacon for many years, and a driver for the bus ministry.
A celebration of Marlin's life is scheduled for Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Forest Park Lawndale 6900 Lawndale St. Houston, Texas 77023. A reception will follow at 2610 Elm Hollow St. Pearland, Texas 77581.
