

Marquita Ann Foster Spell was born on February 18, 1943 at St Joseph Hospital, Houston, Texas. She went to heaven on July 8, 2012 in Katy, TX due to complications from a neck injury in December, 2011. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Spell and three wonderful children: Bryan Todd Spell and wife Hazel of Tomball, Texas, Amanda Katherine Turner and husband Michael of Tomball, Texas and Amy Jennifer Hagy and husband David of Haymarket, VA. She is also survived by seven loving grandchildren: Taylor, Elise, and Lauren Spell, Sophia and Robert William Turner, Rebecca and Nickolas Hagy and sweet step-grandchildren: Caryl and Trisha Faulks. Preceding her in death were the parents she loved dearly, Norval John and Mary Lorene Foster. Marquita Ann graduated from Milby High School in 1961 where she played the lyre on the coed drill team. She attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas for two years. Marquita and Robert were married on August 31, 1963 at St. Andrews Methodist Church in Houston, Texas.
Marquita and Robert moved to Maryland shortly after marrying. They returned to Texas after three years and had their three children in Houston. During the following years, they lived in California and New Jersey before retiring back to Texas in 2004. She worked for ten years in the chemical industry in Houston as a traffic clerk at Matheson Gas and Celanese Chemical. She was a secretary for five years in the US Air Force office at the NASA Johnson Space Center. When she and Robert relocated to California, she worked for Lockheed Martin for fifteen years as a procurement specialist. She retired in 2001. She was a very kind, loving, fun to be with lady, always ready with a smile and a hardy laugh. She is greatly loved and will be sorely missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home at 2pm.
