Mary Helen “Granny” Alvarez died in the early morning of July 18, 2016 in Pearland Texas. She was gravely ill and is now in heaven free from the pain and discomfort she experienced in the last months of her life. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband, Luis Alejandro Alvarez, and daughter, Louise Elaine Wilford and is survived by her son, James Nelson Alvarez, daughter, Judith Celia Croom-Clancy, 11 grandchildren, Kari, Gregory, Jamie, Tracy, Zachary, Erica, Megan Shaun, Charlie, Jennifer, Tony, and 19 great grandchildren. Granny lived a long, full life and nurtured and touched all the hearts of her kids. The Rosary will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Ave., Houston, Texas, 77023 followed by visitation. The Funeral Mass will be Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 2209 Old Alvin Rd., Pearland Texas 77581. Honorable Pallbearers will be James Alvarez, Gary Clancy, Gregory Alvarez, Zachary Wilford, Charlie Yelli, and Shaun Flanagan.
