She was born Mary Kaminski in Chappell Hill, Texas on June 3, 1920, the second of eleven children. She married the love of her life, Billy R. Bartniski in 1938, and moved to Houston a few years later. Since then, Mary has been a resident of the Houston Heights as well as a devout parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Billy R. Bartniski and her eldest son, Edward L. Bartniski. She is lovingly survived by her two sisters, Gertrude Paradowski and Pearl Nelson and four sister-in-laws, Edwina Kaminski, Natalie Kaminski, Helen Mobley, and Florence Derkowski. Mary is also survived by her children, daughter-in-law Faye A. Bartniski, son Fr. Bill Bartniski, son Michael Bartniski and wife Suzanne, daughter Joyce Knussmann and husband Keith. Mary is affectionately remembered by five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and an extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, and a world of many friends. Family was very important to Mary. She loved to cook and entertain company. No one would ever go hungry at Grandma’s house! She also loved music and would start dancing at the sound of it. Sunday lunches, baby and wedding showers, barbeques at the church, and any place where there could be food, family, and dancing, Mary would gather her family and ensure everyone was well fed and happy. Reflecting on all that Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt Mary gave to so many requires that we all should enjoy a glass of wine with an ice cube in her memory. Smile, you know she would want you to. Mary’s Family will be receiving friends and guests at Heights Funeral Home, 1317 Heights Blvd. Houston, TX 77008, on Friday, July 15, 2016 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM with a rosary to be held at 7:00 PM.
