Mary Garza Martinez

Mary Garza Martinez, 87, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family, on March 23, 2017 in Houston, Texas. She was born March 25, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Mariano and Maria Tobias Garza. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Maria Garza; her husband Xavier G. Martinez whom she married in 1949; her sister, Virginia Perez and brothers, Marcelino Garza and Paul Garza. Mary leaves to cherish her memories are her children, son, Xavier Martinez and his wife Susan; daughter, Elizabeth Ramirez and her husband, Joe; son, Ruben Martinez and his wife Susie; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Chad Martinez and Lindsay Labardini, Chris and Gin Martinez, Lisa and Brian Deason, Megan Martinez, Marc Martinez, Michael and Theresa Ramirez, Stephen Ramirez, Brianna Ramirez, Matthew Ramirez, Stephanie and Chris Gay, Nina Martinez and Ana and John Allen; ten great grandchildren, Carlotta and Makayla Deason, Isabella Bunn, Ethan Gay, George Martinez, Ava Allen, Aiden Gay, Ryan Gay, Cora Allen and Mikayla Ramirez.

Special love for Martha Lopez and daughter Tania Lopez for their loving care of our mother for the past thirteen years.

Mary was a dedicated employee of Southwestern Bell for 40 years where she started at the tender age of 18 years old. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 5-9 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 10 AM at St. Patrick 4918 Cochran St. Houston, Texas 77009. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
