Mary Emma Small Smuts

Mary Emma Smuts was born on Saturday, February 28, 1925 in Andrews, Indiana to parents, James Ray and India Alice Small. She passed away peacefully on Monday evening September 15, 2014 at the age of 89.

On October 5, 1943, Mary married her high school sweetheart, Rex Smuts. In 1962 she and Rex moved the family to the Spring Branch area of Houston where they resided for over 50 years.

Mary is survived by her husband Rex; their children: David and wife Paula, Tom, Rick and wife Leslie, Alice and husband Jerry Blackburn and Robin and husband Dr. Cesar Bravo. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Emma Bravo, and is survived by seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mary was held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Memorial Drive Christian Church, 11750 Memorial Drive in Houston, 77024, where a beautiful reception followed.
