In 1971, Marybelle married Vellar Clark Jr. Marybelle and Vellar were proud parents to Lenore, Deavis, Verdia Dalvette, Vellar II and Harold Wright. Marybelle and Vellar enjoyed 42 years of marriage.
Marybelle was a 1964 graduate of Sam Houston High School in Huntsville, TX.
Marybelle was an avid gardener. Her love for flowers and plants afforded her beautiful flower beds and flourishing fruits among which are finds, strawberries, and cucumbers. She truly had a "green thumb" and could grown illustrious fruits and vegetables and would "can" the fruits in mason jars to create fig and strawberry preserves for her family to enjoy for many months. She also canned and preserved pickles.
Mary was also a skilled seamstress. She could sew, alter and tailor any article of clothing. She often tailored her husband's suits to fit him to a tee.
When Mary and Vellas migrated to Starks, LA her skillset as a gardener manifested in their well-manicured yard. Between Vellar's immaculate yard cutting and Mary's knowledge of growing roses, flowers and plants, their yard was one to admire and enjoy. When her husband died in 2011, she was committed to keeping a well-manicured yard until she could no longer do so.
Marybelle embraced strong Christian beliefs the went strong and deep. Her Christian beliefs were first inspired by her mother who was a traveling missionary. Marybelle accepted Christ at an early age and demonstrated her faith and belief in Christ by being baptized and later joining Greater Northeast Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in 1972 where she faithfully served as an active member of the usher board for many years.
Preceding her in death is her husband of whom she missed every day until she greeted him again in Heaven last week.
Marybelle leaves to cherish her memories: her children - Lenore Williams, David Beck, Verdiat Dalvette Green, Vellar Clark III and Harold Wright; her grandchildren - Christopher, Mary Samantha, Charniece, David, Derek, Victoria, Victor, Vellar Clark IV, Harold Jr. and Isaac; her great-grandchildren and all her brother and sister in-laws who she loved very dearly.
