Maxine, even though we haven't been in touch in a while, except for Christmas cards, I have great memories when we lived on 10th. Street in Galena Park.  Many afternoons we would just sit and talk about the past and such stories they were.  Barbara,Margie,Jean  and I used to spend many an afternoon at your house. Even though you were a little older than us, you seemed just like one of us girls and never treated us like just kids. You always served us the best ice tea.  When you started working at Middleton's I enjoyed seeing you there, you were always so friendly.

I wish to send encouragement to the family. There is good news about our loved ones who have fallen to sleep in death. Ecclesiastes 9:5,6,10 Can you imagine the joy of Martha and Mary when Jesus raised Lazarus back to life? John 11:21-24, 34-44

Words can not express how much Grandma will be missed. She was loving, kind, graceful, good listener, comforter, and friend. Many times I have gone to Grandma's house just to say "Hi" but ended up staying for hours and hours just to talk about life and, truthfully, to enjoy her company and be in her presence. Some of my most fond memories are being at Grandma's house for the holidays and helping Grandma "make" mac-and-cheese and telling her when the water was "popping". She would always take in "strangers" and make them family. She is also the only true grandparent I have ever known. I am thankful to have known her for as long as I did and wish it could be longer. However, Grandma is in no more pain or suffering, has 2 legs, and can finally see her other son and husband once again. She is dancing on the streets of gold and that is what lifts me up. Grandma, I love you with all my heart! I will cherish our memories together till the day I die. I am missing you already, but I know you are in a better place. I LOVE YOU!

It is extremely difficult to say in a few words what Mom meant to our family and friends. She was always the anchor that brought the family together and the friend in need whenever the situation required. She never met a stranger and made many friends through the years. As a mother, she would always have the answer you needed, a fix for something broken, a word of sympathy, or the encouragement needed to help you through a trying situation. She was the best cook in the world, and she loved to prepare wonderful meals for her friends and family. Her tastes were simple and she was happy with her books, nick-knacks, photos and TV. She had a collection of many of the classis musicals from the 30s through 50s, that she loved to watch. During the last two years of her life, she endured heart problems, cancer, strokes, diabetes, and an amputation with a grace and positive attitude that few people possess. When I visited her in the Nursing Home she always wanted to know how everyone (including the dog) was doing. She always seemed more worried about others than herself. Her room is still lined with photos of her friends and family. These people were the absolute center of her life and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Grandma....You are an amazing person.  I love you very much. Thank you for all you have done over the years.  Thank you for being such a great role model for us to aspire to be.

Mom...there is no way words can express the overwelming love I feel. You were courageous beyond all expectations. You took our rather feral childhood and somehow formed family out of the chaos. Normal.. not in the least..but a family with love and support.  By this worlds standard a little person....but you did great things. So many acts of kindness and thoughtfulness that only will be known by the receiver. Your time of suffering is over. I imagine you ran to your first Red Lobster Dinner joined by Husband and Son. We o so relunctantly give you over to our Lord and Savior....Heaven is not only a better place it is a funnier place...
