Melba Jo Hamilton

Melba was born on February 26, 1932 to Marshall and Grace Martin in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Following graduation from Paden High School, she attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Home Economics. While there, she met and married her husband David Hamilton in 1953. Melba taught elementary education in Houston ISD for 24 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church Katy.

Melba was preceded in death by her loving husband, David Hamilton. She is survived by her children, Ross Hamilton, Cheryl Rider, and Leah Brumlow; seven grandchildren, Zackary Hamilton, Josiah Hamilton, Aaron Rider, Seth Rider, Hannah Rider, Colin Brumlow and Lance Brumlow; two great grandchildren, Vivian Hamilton and Nova Cake-Rider; and four siblings, La Verne Wiginton, Shelby Martin, Dwight Martin, and Carol Harless.

The family wishes to pay thanks to the wonderful staff of IPR Hospice for their dedication to the patient and to the family.
