

Melba Francine Gibson was born on December 7, 1935 to Wilma Leroy and Velma Moore Gibson in Burkburnett, Texas. She went to her heavenly home on August 8, 2020 while living in Greenville, Texas.
Melba was one of seven siblings. While an employee at Lockwood National Bank in Houston, Texas she met Ken Jones and they were married on February 24, 1963 in Alaska. They later moved back to the Houston area where she returned to a career in banking. Ken and Melba enjoyed traveling with their friends Roland and Betty Deardorff. Melba was a faithful member of Southeast Church of Christ. Melba loved humor and instigated more than her fair share of practical jokes. She loved people and people loved her. Melba gave generously of her time and resources to help others. Most of their married life Melba faithfully took care of Ken and made sure they enjoyed the years they had together. Several years after Ken’s death and her retirement from Lockwood National, Melba moved to Greenville, Texas to be near one of her nephews and to enjoy life with his young family.
Melba is preceded in death by her husband, Ken, by her parents, and by her sister Mildred and brothers Kenneth, James, and WL (Dub) Gibson. She is survived by her sister Donna Dobbs and husband Jerry in Devol, Oklahoma and her sister Rebecca Sue Gibson of Deer Park, Texas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved and enjoyed spending time with.
