Melvia June (Hood) Morris

Melvia June (Hood) Morris, was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on Saturday, November 25, 1933, to parents John C. and Gertrude (Sloan) Hood. She passed away in Conroe, Texas on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the age of 85.
June was employed with Sulphur Springs State Bank and then City National Bank of Sulphur Springs until her retirement in 1999.
June was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Harvey Wayne Morris; granddaughter, Rachel Morris; sister, Laudelle Close and a brother, Jackson Sloan Hood. She is survived by her loving children, Judy Morris Azzo and husband Alex of Houston, Texas, Stan V. Morris and wife Judy of Magnolia, Texas, H. Wayne Morris and wife Sandra of Grand Prairie, Texas. June is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Zachary Morris and wife Sara, Caitlin Marek and husband Kevin; her great grandchild, Azariah Marek, sister, Donnelle Brosseau of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois and brother, Curtis Ray Hood of White Oak, Texas.
June moved from Sulphur Springs to Tomball, Texas in 2009. She was a life-long Bridge enthusiast, and enjoyed playing the game with her Tomball friends.
