Mercedes Mary Jamison
July 21, 1925 – May 10, 2018
Mercedes “Mary” Jamison passed away May 10, 2018 at Silverado Kingwood Memory Care Community in Kingwood, Texas. She was born July 21, 1925 in Bellville, Texas to Jacob Julius Young and Aster Siegert Young along with her twin sister, Marcel. She was raised on the farm with her brother, Clarence, and sister. As a young woman she had visions of the opportunities that awaited her in Houston. After graduating from high school she moved to Houston with her sister to attend Massey business school. In Houston she met her husband, Doyle B. Jamison, and had two children, Dale and Darrell. Later in her career, she became secretary to the controller of Houston Natural Gas and eventually became an Assistant Secretary of Enron. After retiring from Enron, she became the secretary for her beloved church. Mary was very independent and self-reliant. She would take on projects that included carpentry, painting, landscaping and building-nothing was too difficult. She loved to travel, garden, solve puzzles and play computer games. She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle B. Jamison; her parents Jacob and Aster Young; her brother, Clarence O. Young; and her sister Marcel Gau. She is survived by her sons; Dale E. Jamison and wife Maru, Darrell D. Jamison and wife Carol, her grandchildren; D. Kenneth Jamison and wife Jayita, Michael J. Jamison, Mark R. Jamison and wife Hannah, step grandchildren; Chris Miller and Cody Miller, step great grandchildren, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and her church family.
