MICHAEL CHARLES ADAMO III - 82, passed away February 1, 2017. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Marie; son, Michael IV & Gina and children, Quint, Emma and Dominic; son, Johnny & Cindy and children, Jacob and Jordan; sisters, Barbara Adamo Smith and Genevieve Adamo Loria; sister-in-law, Therese Samperi, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his wife Rose Ann Adamo, father Mike Adamo Jr., mother Marie Adamo, father-in-law John B. Samperi Sr., mother-in-law Annie Mae Samperi, and his special friend “Lolita.”
Michael grew up near West University on South Blvd., just across the street from his second parents, Louis and Florence Adamo. Growing up, Michael felt as if he had two mothers and two sisters. In his free time, Michael enjoyed riding his bike on Kirby Drive, when it was only a dirt road.
After graduating from St. Thomas High School, Michael continued his studies at The University of Texas at Austin where he graduated and received two degrees, in Chemistry and Pharmacy. Soon after he was hired by Dugan Drugs in the Heights. In 1961, Michael met his soulmate, Rose Ann. The couple were wed in 1962, and continued their life together raising their three children in Westbury.
In his pastime, Michael enjoyed traveling with his wife Rose Ann, sister Barbara, and brother-in-law Ken. After Rose Ann passed away in 2001, he continued his travels with his sisters Barbara, Genevieve, and their friend Father Jim. Together, they cruised all over the world while playing Rummikub. When he wasn’t traveling, he enjoyed spending time in his garden, going to his family ranch and being the car pooler for his grandchildren. He also loved his special Monday nights with his niece Rose, her husband Ellis, and their daughters Kendall and Annie.
Our family would also like to thank Tony Lawrence and Michael Louis Adamo for helping with Michael’s care these past few months.
The family will be present for visitation at Forest Park Lawndale on February 4, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary and a Prayer Service led by Father James Harnan at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
