Mike was a 57 year resident of the Western Oaks neighborhood in the Spring Branch area of Houston, Texas and sole proprietor of Mountain Air HVAC service. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, Joyce and Keith Arnold. Mike spent his childhood in California and various locations in Texas before moving to Spring Branch in 1969 where he attended Spring Branch High School.
Mike’s HVAC business and friendly demeanor connected him to vast array of people, many of whom remained life-long friends. He loved sharing his life experiences, always having an interesting story to relate and making extensive use of the Facebook platform. Through his adult life he served as a mentor and informal foster dad to many young people, providing support and presence in a challenging world. In his final days, he received phone calls and visits from many friends and customers that uplifted his spirit, for which he was very thankful. He was especially thankful to his neighbors Yvonne and Arturo Trejo, and friends Corey Garibay, Joel Bauler, Kyle Franklin, Geoff Newby, and Noel McInnis who provided critical support, allowing him to come home to rest. Mike, with all his eccentricities that made him special in so many ways, embodied the teachings of Jesus in what he did. His actions spoke more loudly than words ever could and made a meaningful difference in the lives of so many…truly the hands and feet of Jesus. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him for his animated visits and interesting anecdotes. His spirit lives on in the many lives he indelibly touched.
