My parents, Kornel and Natalia Krupsky were welcomed by Michael and his family in 1950.  We immigrated from Ukraine and arrived in New Orleans for a few days before being welcomed by the Danylyks and our sponsor Mr. Balaban.

It was Michael, whose gregarious personality welcomed us with open arms.  He made our first steps in America easier.  He would drive us all over Houston to meet other new Americans who were of Ukrainian Heritage. Michael connected all of us into a social group and he has continued to serve his community and heritage.   

We moved to Denver Colorado, in 1953, because it reminded us of a more European weather and etc...  Kornel and Natalia had two daughters , Mira and Lidia, who used to play with Helen.  

Kornel and family also became part of the founding families that build a Ukrainian Church, school, Plast (Scouts), and other organizations in Denver.
Both daughters speak in Ukrainian and were very active in the church choir,and Plast.  Lidia married Andrew Marenin and lives in Denver. Mira (Myra) married a Naval Officer and has experienced life in various states. After 18 years in Washington D.C., they moved to Escondido, Calif (north of San Diego). There Mira and family took an active part in moving the Ukrainian Catholic church to a new location, and developing the Pastoral Council.

As one of many founding pioneer families of Ukrainian Churches and organizations in the southwestern part of the United States, we see that a common thread of our heritage has produced hard working people who value their past and were brave enough to make in roads in a strange new world.

God is smiling on Michael, and my parents and he has blessed them with many graces.  Blessed are they, and we as their family members are so proud of their achievements and their guiding ways has enriched our lives.
