Michael was a beloved brother, uncle, and a faithful man of God. After turning to the Lord more than 30 years ago, he devoted himself deeply to his relationship with God. Before having breakfast, Michael would often spend hours reading and studying his Bible—a reflection of the faith and devotion that guided his life.
Many people throughout Houston’s Northside knew Michael from his school days at Marshall Middle School and Jeff Davis High School. Others came to know him through the family game room, a place filled with laughter, friendship, and countless memories shared with him over many years.
Michael found true love with his beloved Shirley Fannin, who preceded him in death. She shared her love of art and so much more with Michael, leaving a lasting impression on his life. Their love remained a cherished part of his story.
Michael is survived by his loving siblings, Delphina Torres and Rene DeLeon, as well as his nephews, including Robert Martinez, David Torres, Johnathan Torres, and Christopher Torres, and many extended family members and friends.
May he rest peacefully in the presence of the Lord he faithfully loved and served.
