Michael David Escagne

Michael David “Mickey” Escagne passed away on April 29, 2026. Born in Galveston, Texas, Mickey was raised in Nederland, Texas. In his formative years, Mickey participated in football, basketball, baseball, and soccer which cultivated his lifelong enthusiasm for Houston sports. He was an avid supporter of the Oilers, Texans, Rockets, Astros, as well as Duke University and University of Houston basketball teams. In 2025, he experienced a moment of divided loyalty when UH narrowly defeated Duke to advance to the national championship game.

Mickey was a proud father who cared deeply for his children in all circumstances. Additionally, he was known as a considerate friend to many and possessed a remarkable sense of humor that uplifted those around him.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Elizabeth and Michael Garcia; his children, Mitchel, Mason, and Molly Escagne; his stepsister, Taylor Davis; his grandmother. Janie Marshall; his uncle and aunt, James and Michelle Escagne; his uncle, Stoney Ramsey; and his cousins, Jessica Worsham, Evan Escagne, Samuel Escagne, and Grimm Ramsey.

Mickey will be remembered with great affection and will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on May 11, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
