Michael Jacob Jamison, 33, of Humble, Texas, passed away on February 27, 2022. He was born in Houston, Texas on April 10, 1988. Michael graduated from Humble High School and received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University.
Michael worked as a case manager at the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. He was a self-proclaimed nerd and loved playing video games and collecting comic books. Michael was an aspiring author who had a following on FanFiction and had completed the first draft of a novel. He was a prankster and loved to laugh and tell jokes along with a propensity to wisecrack. Many comments have been related regarding the “Michaelisms” that friends and relatives still get a laugh about or use in their conversations.
After exposure to the theater in Houston, a couple of trips to the Big Apple created the constant refrain “let’s go to New York.” Michael loved to go to Disney World so much he would have lived in the Haunted House. His Aunt Mimi spoiled him to the beaches of Alabama and western Florida such that a later trip added Destin to the list of places he wanted to visit often. He loved to read, had an extensive library at home and never let a book sale day go by at school.
Michael loved movies; they were his special days with his mother. When he was young, he had a small directors chair to sit in at the movies. He would not leave until the lights came up and the cleaning crew came in lest he miss something.
Michael was always happy to see his friends and family achieve their goals and he grieved whenever they were grieving. It was important for him to attend family events even to the point of planning to attend his step-family’s reunion in Wisconsin this summer where he would have only known his immediate family.
Michael will be greatly missed, yet we can receive comfort that he is with his Savior and those that predeceased him. We can see him running, jumping and no longer being the slowest runner in the class or the last one picked for the team. Perhaps he will even beat the tag sliding into second base playing baseball like his Grandpa Jack wanted.
Michael is survived by his father, Darrell Jamison and stepmother, Carol, stepbrothers Chris Miller (wife Krystle) and Cody Miller (wife Debra), cousins Kenneth Jamison (wife Jayita), Mark Jamison (wife Hannah), Susan Pesina, Misty Campbell (husband Don) and Michael Mabry, lifelong friend Chris Durham, numerous aunts, uncles, step cousins and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Mabry Jamison, and grandparents Doyle and Mary Jamison and Jack and Dean Mabry.
