Mildred Anne Farquhar Lochridge, (passionately known as “Millie”) passed away on February 16, 2018. She was born in Houston, Texas on March 27, 1930 to Nellie & Vernon Farquhar and was a graduate of Sam Houston High School, class of 1948. Shortly after high school, she met the love of her life, Blackburn Joseph Lochridge Jr. (“Blackie”). They were married on October 21, 1950 and lived in Houston until 1968, when they moved to Huffman, Texas. Millie was a Founding Volunteer at Birthright of Humble for 32 years. She was the matriarch of a loving family, raising five sons and one daughter. Anyone that knew her would attest to the fact that she was one of the most loving and caring people they had ever had the pleasure of knowing. Her calming influence was felt by everyone who came into contact with her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Blackburn Joseph Lochridge Jr. and her daughter, Laurie Anne Lochridge. At long last, the three are most joyfully re-united. She is survived by her sons Mike Lochridge of Alvin, Texas and his girlfriend, Vanessa Velasquez of Houston, Texas; Greg Lochridge and wife Karen of Beach City, Texas; Tim Lochridge and wife Laura of Davis, Oklahoma; Andrew Lochridge and wife Deborah of Huffman, Texas (her loving and dedicated caretakers for the last 11 years), Mark Lochridge and wife Jeanette Huddleston of Houston, Texas along with 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She will be sorely missed but her family and friends take great comfort in the facts that she is with those whom she loved that have gone on before her and that she now stands with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Earthman Resthaven is located at 13102 North Freeway in Houston, Texas. The Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb 22nd at Earthman Resthaven from 5pm-8pm. The Celebration of Life service will also be at Earthman’s Chapel at 11:00am on Saturday morning the 24th with a brief 2pm graveside service taking place at Forest Park Cemetery located at 6900 Lawndale Street in Houston, Texas.
Because of Millie’s and Blackie’s passion for the ministry of Birthright of Humble, the family is asking, in lieu of flowers, PLEASE donate to Birthright of Humble in her honor for being one of the Founding Volunteers and for remaining faithful for 32 years until illness made her too weak to continue.
