Mildred “Mickey” Schlecht-Pennell, age 75, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee. Preceded in death by her husband, James Schlecht; son, Andrew Schlecht; and granddaughter, Mackenzie Gaines. Survived by her husband, Michael Pennell; daughters, Tami Jackson and husband Cody, Meredith Gaines and husband Travis, and Michelle Pennell; grandson, Nikolas Hernandez; granddaughters, Whitney Amador, and Madisyn Gaines; sisters, Francie Baker, Freda Patton, and Vanessa Amairia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Chapel of Earthman Resthaven. Interment will then be at 3:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
