Minerva, affectionately known as “Minnie”, was born to Eugenio Gonzales and Guadalupe Zermeño Gonzales, on August 6, 1934, in Houston, Texas. She remained single and lived with her mother until her mother passed into heaven in 1990. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio and Guadalupe Gonzales, sisters, Gloria Cardona and Ophelia Ramirez and brother, Raymond Gonzales. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Alice Gloria and Susie Garza. She also leaves to cherish her memory many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews which include the Gloria, Cardona, Gonzales, Ramirez and Garza families and also many cousins and cherished friends.
Minnie graduated from Our Lady of Guadalupe school. She received a Business Certificate from the Business College. Over the years, Minnie worked for Curtis Mattis, Memorial Hermann Hospital and Weiner’s. She was a member of the Women's Aglow (ladies prayer group) and she also participated weekly with the Denver Harbor Multi-Service Center Seniors. She faithfully attended her Church, Ministerio Luz a las Naciones. Her pastor, Jacob Miron, will lead the funeral services.
We thank God for the gift of Aunt Minnie. We believe every family should have an Aunt Minnie. She was strong, vivacious, full of love, and dedicated to God. The joy of the Lord was her strength. Her faith in our Lord Jesus was so strong everyone who met her knew this right away. She was a spiritual powerhouse with hugs to match. That was Aunt Minnie! She had a special way of expressing her affection to each one of her nieces, nephews and to everyone. To her nieces, she would greet them with Spanish words like, " Que linda, preciosa, hermosa, bonita, mi vida!"
She will remain forever etched in our hearts and our memories. She will be missed by so many.
