Mitchell Ronald Meza was born on June 22, 1959 in Phoenix, AZ and passed away on March 8, 2020 in Houston, TX. Mitch was a broadcast engineer in Houston for over 25 years. He loved his family, cooking and Houston Texans tailgating. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, son Niles and daughter Michelle.
Prior to getting into the radio industry, Mitch drove a top of the line Peterbuilt big rig. He loved the open roads. After getting his Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering in 1991, he started his 25+ years of Radio Broadcast Engineering and was truly one of the best radio engineers in Houston. Additionally, Mitch loved to tailgate at Texans games more than he liked watching the games. Known as DJ Burger-Ready because of the songs he played “too loud” on the sound system he built just for game days and the food he loved to cook and share with the other Pooch Punter tailgaters. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and showing off his skills at barbequing/smoking his favorite meats. A Memorial Gathering will be held Saturday, March 14th from 1pm – 4:30pm at the Heights Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:30PM.
