We were just wrecker drivers, but Morris was always our friend.  He was the "perfect policeman" and he always commanded our respect because he did his job as an accident investigator so well.

I have very fond memories of Morris from my old H.P.D. days.  He was a great guy.  I am so glad I got to see him at a local restaurant several months ago and we had a great visit, just catching up on the years gone by.  To Morris' family, I am sorry for your loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I will greatly miss my Acadamy classmate and first regular partner.

We always enjoyed and looked forward to our time together, and have missed seeing Morris at the Hill Country property.  Our thoughts are with each of you who will miss him as much as we will.  We thoroughly enjoyed his many experiences and related stories. It was a blessing to know him and to have been his friend.  Our hearts are heavy with this loss.  We wish you comfort in knowing the tremendous impact he had on those he touched.

I knew Morris for many years, even before we were both at HPD.  We both grew up in Houston Heights and that is when we first knew each other from.
  I never did work with Morris in the same divisions at HPD, but we would often talk about old times from years ago. However we saw each other regularly at the HPROA meetings and sometimes ate together at the Whitney Oaks spagetti dinners after those meetings.
   I will miss Morris as he was an old friend and fine family man.
   I offer my condolences to his family at their time of sorrow on his passing away.  God Bless Him.

Jennifer and Carol,  I am so sorry for your loss.  Morris was such a good friend to everyone, especially me and my family.  He always made me laugh with his wonderful stories,  he really was a "policeman's policeman", willing to help anyone in need.  I can't tell you how I will miss him. Morris was my best friend when we were children living on 27th St. in the Heights. When he was a police officer, he would turn on his light to pull me over if he saw me in my car.  I would be thinking I was getting a ticket. Once he came to the Memorial Hospital and told the front desk that he was there to see me.  The front office was afraid I was going to be charged with a crime. He told the receptionist he was prepared to wait until they brought me down to the lobby.  The whole hospital was talking about me being sought by a police officer. He was really special to me.  I now live in Scottsdale, Arizona and cannot come in for the funeral, but just knowing he is gone makes me really sad.  My prayers are with his family.     Nelda Makors

 I will always remember this always cheerfull and story telling owner of The Nut House donut shop. Just a class act that loved his family and his job as a police officer to the fullest extent. Our best to Carol and  his entire family. Bet he is driving a corvette in Heaven right now.

Morris. Now that you are gone, I realize that I owe you so much.  My values, my love for the outdoors and this job I can all trace back to you.  Know that your legacy lives on through Jennifer, those grandsons who you could not stop talking about and the rest of us who you took in.  I will truly miss our conversations.  We are all going to be here someday and I will see you then.

Morris was a serious quail hunter.  We had some good times hunting in years past.  He'll be missed by all who hunted with him as well as his family and fellow officers.  Always fun to be with and a guy that was always willing to help.  He was definately one of the "Good Guys".

Morris was a friend first and a customer second, he would always call and talk about the fish he caught, we could talk for an hour or so and he always talked about his grand kids, he loved them so , you could hear it in his voice. I would always see him once a year at our annual barbeque and we always talked at that time. I know his family will miss him because Vickie and I already do. May he rest in peace, I know he had a good time in life and really enjoyed being retired.

We enjoyed having Morris visit us in Oregon and then visiting him in Houston in 2004.  We kept in touch with phone calls and email.  We'll miss his laugh and his smile.  May he be at peace.

My prayers are with Jennifer and family.  Mr. Quast was a good friend and our "neighborhood protector".  I will miss him.
