Muriel Reid Smith

Muriel Reid Smith passed away on December 29, 2010 in Houston, Texas. She was born in Dallas, Texas on June 28, 1922 to Doyle and Allie Mae Smith. The family moved to Houston, Texas when she was a child. She graduated from Lamar High School and the University of Houston. She lived in Venezuela, Mexico and Italy then returned to Houston in 1973 where she lived the remainder of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Clarence Preston Reid, Jr. and her daughter Constance (Connie) Lynn Reid. Left to cherish her memory are her husband J. Arnold Smith, daughter Janet Reid Bodin and her husband Robert, granddaughters Roseanne and Christina Bodin, step children Curtis Smith and wife Debbie, Frances Smith Kelley and husband Ed, and step grandchildren Hallye and Cuyler Smith and Curtis and Shannon Kelley.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 2 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 3 at 1:00 p.m., at the gravesite in Forest Park Lawndale located at 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Houston Chapter, 2242 W. Holcombe Blvd, Houston, TX 77030.
