Nadine Roper Dunn, daughter to Charles and Amelia Roper, was born in Elms Springs, Ark. On August 20, 1928 and passed away peacefully on August 18, 2018. She was 1 of 7 children. Survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Freeman Dunn, Son, Craig Dunn and wife Corinne, Daughter, Rachael Morehead and husband Lane, Daughter in law Debbie. Grandchildren, Brandi and husband Dwayne, Joey, Michael, Kelly and Stephanie. Great grandchildren, Will, Jordyn, Hunter and Oliver. Sister , Bea Roper Dunn. Sister in laws, Mary Ann Carroll, Mary Dunn and LouAnn Dunn, Goddaughter, Jaimie Bobrowski, numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings and son, Bill.
She married the love of her life Freeman Dunn on February 22, 1947 in Houston, TX by her father in law, Reverend William Dunn. She was a loving mother to her 3 children, Bill, Dianne and Craig. The family moved from Houston to Porter where she resided for 54 years on Dunn Lane along with other family members of the Dunn family. She enjoyed all the family celebrations held every year at the “Rec Hall” and loved cooking Freeman’s favorite, Cornbread dressing.
Freeman and Nadine’s married life was based around their faith and love for God. Faithfully involved with Lindale Assembly of God and Humble First Assembly of God and many other ministries.
In 1953, Freeman along with Nadine joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, as she referred to “The Stockshow”. She was on many committees through the years. Her husband was involved with an elite group of gentlemen known as “The Vaqueros” some of their wives formed their own elite group, “The Guinea Girls”. Together they made fond memories of traveling with each other and forming close bonds through the years. Creating memories they all will cherish.
The most precious gifts she received were her grandchildren and great grandchildren who always brought joy to her life; she loved them so much.
We were all blessed someway through Nadine, her love, kindness, her sweet smile that will always be memories in our hearts.
