Nelda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked in the Dallas Independent High School system until she retired. Nelda volunteered in several organizations including the Order of DeMolay’s Tournament of Champions, 112th Cavalry Reunion organization and the Dallas PTA as a Past President and Life Member.
She is survived by her husband Ernest L. Gabriel, her son Larry Gabriel and wife Cathy, her granddaughter Christina Hattenbach and husband Sean, great grandson Robert Ahren Hattenbach, and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 12th from 2:00pm until 4:00pm at Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston. Graveside services and interment will be 10:30am on Wednesday, September 15th at Houston National Cemetery.
