

NGAR TONG GAW, 73, born on April 17, 1937, in the White Water Village of Canton, China, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2010. She attended high school and college in Hong Kong. In 1958, she married and migrated to Houston, Texas where she settled.Also known as "Nancy" by her families and friends, she is remembered as a loving mother, wife, and friend. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time with them. She loved taking care of them, and taking them to school. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing Ma-Jong. She had a green thumb; her garden flourished year around with fruits and vegetables.Ngar (Nancy) touched many people's lives and will always be remembered fondly for her genuine, sweet smile by her family, friends, and acquaintances. She will truly be missed by all who knew her.Ngar Tong was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Gaw, and is survived byher son, Benny and his wife Denise, and grandchildren Jennifer and Daniel of Katy, TX; son, Perry and his wife Connie, and grandchildren Jessica, Jonathan, and Jasmine of Sugar Land, TX; daughter Wanda Isbell and husband Allen of San Diego, CA; sister, Seung Franco and husband Paul, and children, Jason and Stephanie of San Diego, brother-in-law Joseph Gaw and his wife Catherine, and children, Ken, Lisa and her husband Ryan, and Kevin of Houston; and many other relatives and friends.Visitation will be at 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, June 7, 2010 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home in the Main Chapel. Funeral services will be held in the Main Chapel of Forest Park Lawndale at 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in memory of Mrs. Gaw may be directed to Asian American Baptist Church, 2723 Kingsbrook Lane, Missouri City, TX 77459.
